Ceyda Akbal Schwimann is the Partner, heading our firm’s Dispute Resolution Department. She is specialized on commercial and corporate disputes, investments, and investment protection disputes. She advises major international groups and private clients in their investments as well as in their disputes against private parties, states, and state entities.

Ceyda has many years of experience in representing multinationals before state courts. She also regularly acts as counsel in international arbitration proceedings. She has vast experience in working under the major arbitration rules, for example advising clients in proceedings under the ICC Rules, Vienna Rules, ICSID Rules of Arbitration, as well as in ad-hoc arbitration proceedings.

Ceyda is dual-qualified in Turkey and Austria, and was based in Austria for several years working for Austrian law firms. In the last 2 years’ time, while she continues to advise Turkish clients on the Austrian law aspects in particular in international arbitration, she actively heads the Dispute Resolution Department of our firm in Turkey, handling and overseeing many cases related to local and international clients in Turkey.

Ceyda has also extensive experience in investment planning and commercial law as well as real estate law, and she has been providing legal advisory services in these areas for many years to major international groups.
