Damla Keskin Şerbetcioğlu
Damla has a broad expertise in banking & finance, mergers and acquisitions and structured debt finance areas. She has acted for several reputable international and local banks, financial institutions and investment companies in their secured or unsecured bilateral and syndicated financing activities involving Turkish and foreign counterparties such as Turkish banks and reputable Turkish and foreign companies being active in various sectors (e.g. automotive, pharmacology, energy, airport servicing etc.).
Damla advises her clients on a wide range of banking and lending related regulatory issues, which include, amongst others, rules applicable to cross-border lending, financial leasing and factoring as well as the resolution regime applicable to Turkish banks and consequences thereof on foreign secured creditors.
She has a specific focus on secured financings and security packages under Turkish law, with a notable academic background. In particular, she drafts and negotiates on several types of security arrangements for the benefit of many international and local banks and financial institutions whereas she completed her LL.M. degree in 2019 with a master’s thesis on one of the most debatable topics in Turkish financing sector, namely “Establishment of a pledge over shares of a joint stock company via a custodian agreement”, which is expected to be published as a monography by the end of 2019.
Prior to joining our firm, Damla started her career in a highly recognized top-tier law firm in Banking & Finance for 1 year; and she has gained senior level experience in the Banking & Finance department of a leading local law firm for 4 years.
