Gökhan Akçaalan has over 10 years of experience in the Turkish legal market, focusing on employment law, corporate and commercial advisory, real estate transactions, investigations, compliance & ethics, and data privacy.

He regularly advises multinational clients on day-to-day employment matters, including global policies, workforce restructuring, disciplinary actions, employee exits, and sensitive internal investigations. His practice covers both advisory and contentious employment matters, including representation in employment litigation, union-related disputes, and collective bargaining negotiations.

Gökhan’s expertise also extends to corporate governance, company structuring, and commercial operations across diverse industries, including technology, health care, FMCG, and e-commerce. He provides practical legal support in real estate transactions, including leasing, project development, and asset transfers. In the field of compliance and data privacy, he advises on compliance risk management, internal investigations, internal compliance policies, and Turkish data privacy and GDPR-related matters.

Before joining Akol Law as Counsel, Gökhan worked for over a decade at a leading international law firm in Istanbul, where he acted for major multinational companies. He also completed secondments at a multinational beverage company and a major e-commerce platform, gaining firsthand experience of in-house operations and cross-functional legal support.

Gökhan has been recognized for his expertise in Employment Law by The Legal 500, being named a “Rising Star” in 2024 and a “Leading Associate” in 2025. These recognitions reflect his practical and business-oriented approach, as well as his strong track record advising multinational companies on a wide range of employment and compliance matters.
